Brad was set apart as a full-time missionary on 15 December 2009 at about 9:45pm. It was a very Spirit filled meeting full of joy and tears. The picture on the left is of the Brent Roberts (Stake President), Brad, and Brett Rich (Bishop). Two men that we are grateful for. The picture on the right is family that attended the setting apart. (left to right: Grandpa Rigby, Tanner, Terri, Colton, Brad, Grandma Rigby, Don, and Jessica)
We spent the morning of the 16th together as a family. We had a good american breakfast (bacon, eggs, hash browns, pancakes, OJ) and then we spent the rest of the time helping Brad get packed and ready to leave. There was laughter, silence, tears, and hugs. Emotions were all over the place. We then drove to the Provo Temple and spent about a half an hour taking pictures, talking, hugging, and saying our goodbyes. It was a time together that will always be remembered. We then drove down to the MTC and dropped him off at curbside slot #20 at 1:30pm. He officially started his mission. The family spent the rest of the day missing him.

Oh, man. I miss that boy. I hadn't seen him for so long and wasn't able to go to his farewell since it was the same time as our ward Christmas program I participated in. Maybe the stars will align and my pseudo-little brother will get a letter from me :)
ReplyDeleteI love you, my second family! :D
oh man...makes me cry just thinking about it! Brad is a great guy and you all should be proud of him. I have been catching up on your blog today and thinking that i'm going to be having all these emotions in a few weeks. i'll have to call terri for support!
